Family Reduviidae. Body length: 16–24 mm. Distributed from Honshu (Kantō region and westward) to Kyushu. Lives in tree hollows and bark crevices of cherry trees, hackberries, zelkova trees, and other large trees. Pierces insects and caterpillars with its needle-like proboscis to suck their body fluids.
