"Idea leuconoe" Description
Family Nymphalidae. Forewing length: around 70 mm. Distributed in Southeast Asia and the Ryukyu Islands. The largest butterfly in Japan. Has white wings with black radiating streaks and spots. Its gentle, fluttering flight has earned it the nickname "the lady of the tropics."
