"Asian Giant Hornet" Description
Family Vespidae. Body length: 27–38 mm (workers). Distributed from Hokkaido to Kyushu. The largest hornet in Japan. Primarily nests underground and is extremely aggressive with highly potent venom. Attacks a wide variety of insects, chewing them up to feed to its larvae.
