"Promachus yesonicus" Description
Family Asilidae. Body length: 23–30 mm. Distributed from Hokkaido to the Ryukyu Islands. It preys on a wide range of insects including beetles, bees, and butterflies, sucking their body fluids. It is even known to attack Asian Giant Hornets and Golden-ringed Dragonflies.
