"Callicaria superba" Description
Family Coccinellidae. Body length: 11–12 mm. Distributed from Honshu to Kyushu. One of the largest ladybugs in Japan. When flipped over, the underside from thorax to abdomen is black—hence the name haraguro ("black belly"). Primarily lives on mulberry trees, feeding on mulberry psyllids.
