"Maritime Earwig" Description
Family Anisolabididae. Body length: 18–36 mm. Distributed from Hokkaido to Kyushu and the Ryukyu Islands. The most commonly seen earwig. Nocturnal, inhabiting dim, damp places. Uses the pincers on its tail to capture small insects.
