"Brown Planthopper" Description
Family Delphacidae. Body length: 4–6 mm. Distributed from Southeast Asia across all of Japan. A pest that sucks sap from rice leaves and stems, causing the plants to wither. It dies off in Japan during winter when no rice is growing, but returns every year, riding air currents from the Asian continent.
