Family Sparassidae. Body length: 10–30 mm. Distributed mainly south of the Kantō region. With legs spread, it can reach over 100 mm, making it the largest wandering (non-web-building) spider in Japan. Well known for preying on cockroaches, flies, and mosquitoes.
