"Chrysis shanghaiensis" Description
Family Chrysididae. Body length: around 10 mm. Distributed from Hokkaido to Kyushu. A parasitic wasp that uses its mandibles to bore holes into Iraga (slug moth) cocoons to lay its eggs. Its green body has a bluish tinge with metallic luster. When touched, it curls up and plays dead.
