"Tea Tussock Moth (Larva)" Description
Family Erebidae. Body length: around 25 mm. Distributed south of Honshu. One of the most well-known venomous moth species. Possesses urticating hairs approximately 0.1 mm long that cause inflammation on contact. Occurs twice a year and feeds on plants in the family Theaceae, such as camellias and sasanquas.
