"Dorcus striatipennis" Description
Family Lucanidae. Body length: 14–40 mm. Distributed from Hokkaido to Kyushu. Closely resembles Ko-kuwagata but can be distinguished by the vertical ridges on its back and the axe-shaped inner tooth on its mandibles. Inhabits broadleaf forests in flatlands and mountainous areas.
