"Erebus ephesperis" Description
Family Noctuidae. Body length: around 70 mm. Distributed from Honshu to the Ryukyu Islands. The larva has eyespots on its back, while the adult has eyespots on its wings against a mottled brown background. When disturbed, the larva curls up to protect itself.
