"Violin Beetle" Description
Family Carabidae. Body length: 60–80 mm. Distributed in Southeast Asia. A ground beetle whose flat body resembles the shape of a violin. Also called Uchiwa-mushi ("fan bug"). Both larvae and adults prey on insects that gather on bracket fungi and similar mushrooms.
