"Aiolocaria hexaspilota" Description
Family Coccinellidae. Body length: around 10 mm. Distributed from Hokkaido to Kyushu. One of the largest ladybugs in Japan. Has vivid orange and black coloring with a pattern resembling a turtle shell—kamenoko means "turtle shell." Feeds on the larvae of walnut leaf beetles and other prey.
