"Morpho helena" Description
Family Nymphalidae. Forewing length: 65–90 mm. Distributed in Peru. Considered one of the most beautiful species among Morpho butterflies. Its large, brilliantly blue wings are not actually blue—the color is produced by the reflection and refraction of light off microscopic wing structures.
