"Eristalis cerealis" Description
Family Syrphidae. Body length: 10–13 mm. Distributed from Hokkaido to the Ryukyu Islands. Adults feed on flower nectar and pollen, while the aquatic larvae feed on decaying matter. Resembles a honey bee, but can be distinguished by having only two wings, as is typical of flies.
