"Fulgora laternaria" Description
Family Fulgoridae. Body length: 85–90 mm. Distributed from Central America to South America. A relative of cicadas with a head that resembles an alligator. Deters predators by spreading its hind wings to reveal large eyespot patterns. There is a popular myth that its head glows.
