"Stauropus fagi" Description
Family Notodontidae. Body length: around 45 mm. Distributed from Hokkaido to Kyushu. Has a brown body with elongated thoracic legs. When it senses danger, it arches its body dramatically backward. Feeds on the leaves of chestnuts, maples, cherries, and other trees.
